Without an account
You can practice and join rooms as a guest. Your drafts, progress, and guest name live in your own browser’s storage. Rooms hold the name you choose and whatever you type in chat or share, for the life of the room, on our room server.
With an account
Signing in with Discord or GitHub gives us your name, email address, and avatar from that provider. We store those, plus the display name and bio you set, your code drafts, and which problems you have solved, so your work follows you between devices. We don’t sell or share this with advertisers.
Public profiles
Your profile starts private. If you publish it from your account settings, anyone can see your username, display name, bio, avatar, known join date, verified practice activity, and earned points. A published profile can appear in search engines. You can make it private again from the same setting.
Your email, drafts, and submitted code stay private. Browser-only practice and guest activity do not appear on your public profile.
People you follow
We store who you follow and when you followed them. Your following list is available to you, and shows public profiles and their latest verified solves. Private profiles do not appear with identifying details or activity. You can remove a follow at any time, including when the other member has made their profile private.
Mutual follows are marked as friends when the other profile is public. Your data export includes your outgoing follows. Deleting either account removes its follow relationships.
Payments
If you subscribe to Pro, Stripe processes the payment. Stripe receives your email, card details, and billing address directly; we never see your card number. We store your Stripe customer id, your plan, and its status and renewal date so the site knows what you have access to.
Services we rely on
Vercel hosts the site, Neon hosts the database, Cloudflare runs the room server and relays peer connections, and Stripe handles billing. When you enable peer code sharing in a room, your browser connects directly to other participants, which can reveal your IP address to them. It is off by default.
How long we keep things
Room chat and shared solutions are deleted when the room expires, after 24 hours for free rooms and 7 days for Pro rooms, or sooner if the host deletes it. Account data stays until you delete your account, which also cancels any subscription. Stripe keeps invoice records as long as tax law requires.
Cookies and analytics
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in and browser storage for your preferences and drafts. We don’t run third-party advertising trackers.
